Our School Day
Redlands has the strong community feel of a village school in an urban setting.
We want to care for your child and see that they are properly supervised on the school site. Staff will be on duty 5 minutes before the start of the school day and 10 minutes after the end. For this reason we ask that no child arrives before 8.30 am and that all children are collected promptly at the end of the day.
At 8:35am Key Stage 1 (Infant) pupils line up with their class teacher on our lower playground. Key Stage 2 (Junior) pupils are allowed to enter the building between 8.35am and 8.45am and go straight to their classrooms. Reception children enter via the Year R entrance between these times.
The gate will be shutting promptly at 8:45am, please ensure all children are in the gate well before this time. This enables all children to start their learning at the same time.

We try to dismiss children promptly but inevitably this is sometimes not possible. 3.15 pm is the time lessons end, not necessarily the time children leave the building. Children aged 4 – 7 are not dismissed until the teacher can see a known adult to collect them safely. Our children’s safety is taken very seriously.
The school office is open 8.30 am – 3.30 pm. Out of these hours, an answerphone will take your message which will be received at start of business the following day.
My child loves the learning provided to her and always talks positively of her teachers and how kind they are and help her. (Parent survey 2024)
